In Preparation to the Third
OPEC Summit to be Held in Riyadh MinPet Organizes the 2007 Seminar for the Local
Media Professionals
17 Shawwal 1428 (28 October 2007) - At the attendance of HRH Prince
Abdul-Aziz ibn Salman ibn Abdul-Aziz, Assistant to the Minister for Petroleum Affairs,
His Excellency Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources, Engineer Ali ibn Ibrahimm
Al-Naimi, hosted, this Sunday afternoon at the Ministrys Headquarters in Riyadh,
the closing ceremony for The 2007 Seminar for the Local Media Professionals organized
collaboratively by the Ministry of Petroleum & Mineral Resources, Saudi Aramco,
and the Journalists Association, as part of the preparations to the Third OPEC Summit
to be held in Riyadh during the month of Dhu al-Qadah 1428 (November 2007).
At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency presented
certificates to more than forty (40) participants of
Saudi journalists coming from various media and press
entities.
Saudi Arabia will host, at the kind invitation of the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah ibn
Abdul-Aziz, the Third OPEC Summit during the period 7 to
8 Dhu al-Qadah 1428 corresponding to 17 to 18 November
2007.
It is expected that the summit deliberations will focus on
three major topics: provision of oil supplies, promoting
global prosperity, and protection of environment.
It is worth mentioning that the first OPEC summit was held
in Algeria in 1975, while the second OPEC summit was
held in Venezuela in 2000.
OPECs thirteen member states are: Algeria, Angola,
Indonesia, Iran, Ecuador, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria,
Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and
Venezuela.
