OFID donates $500,000 for cyclone-victims in Bangladesh
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, November 18, 2007, SPA- The OPEC Fund for
International Development (OFID) has donated $500,000 to provide relief to the victims
of a cyclone which hit Bangladesh last Thursday.
This grant will be paid from the OFID's account for the natural disasters, The Director
General of the Fund Suleiman bin Jassir told The Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
OFID extends a number of grants including those for combating Acquired Immune Deficiency
Syndrome (AIDS), and others for technical support and for sustaining researches
as well as other assistances and grants for the natural disasters, he elaborated.
