Al-Naimi hails OPEC's 17 years achievements
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, November 14, 2007, SPA -The Minister of Petroleum
and Mineral Resources Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi stressed that the Organization of
Petroleum Exporting Countries / OPEC / has been proud of its achievements for 17
years.
In a press conference held here yesterday and attended by Ecuadorian Minister of
Petroleum Galo Chiriboga Zambrano, Minister Al-Naimi pointed out that the 3rd OPEC
Summit due to be held in Riyadh will focus on efficiency, prosperity and protection,
explaining, "By efficiency, we mean to be the safest among oil suppliers. Prosperity
means our commitment to the world economic growth, particularly in developing nations.
Protection means commitment to protection of environment in terms of participation
in various agreements dealing with the climate change to protect environment."
Replying to questions, he noted that Russian oil companies are welcome to working
in the Kingdom, saying," Saudi Arabia's economy is free and we welcome all companies
in the world in general and Russian companies in particular. A Russian company is
now operating in the Kingdom." |
